Valley Manor is recruiting for a Dietary Aide. This position is 35 hours per week and can start as soon as May 27, 2024.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in maintaining the dietary department in a safe and sanitary manner following cleaning procedures and schedules.
• Provide assistance to the cook in the preparation and service of meals.
• Assist in the preparation and service of beverages, breakfast items, nourishment items, desserts and catering as assigned.
• Assist in serving meals and beverages, following residents’ diets and food preferences, and using proper portion sizes.
• Follow proper food handling techniques; date label and store food properly, keep the work area clean and uncluttered, and complete scheduled cleaning duties.
• Maintain cleanliness of floors in the food preparation, dish room and storage areas.
• Ensure that the proper procedures for Valley Manor programs are followed and performed (i.e. fire regulations, infection control, WHMIS, hazards, Step Ahead, GPA, etc.)
• Adhere to all safety requirements for staff, residents, volunteers, visitors etc.
• Attend in-service training and education sessions and booklet training.
• Follow all guidelines of the environmental services department and Valley Manor.

This is a Canada Summer Jobs position. Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) provides wage subsidies to employers to create quality summer work experiences for young people aged 15 to 30 years.

• Be between the ages of 15 and 30 years old on the start date of the job
