The Town of Laurentian Hills is recruiting for a Building Inspector. This is a full-time position.

Working under the supervision of the Chief Building Official, the Building Inspector has the following responsibilities:

• Reviewing all construction drawings
• Issuing permits
• Performing on-site inspections of all construction (buildings, structures, alterations, additions, renovations, and septic disposal systems), development and demolition in accordance with the Ontario Building Code Act, municipal by-laws and all applicable legislation

• The ideal applicant should have a diploma or degree in a discipline related directly to building design and construction. 
• A minimum of two years of experience working extensively with the Ontario Building Code in building design or the equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• Successful completion or working towards the completion of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing examination program relating to General Legal, Small Buildings. 
• Qualification in the on-site sewage systems would be considered an asset.
• Access to reliable transportation to travel to various work locations.
