The Pembroke office of Welch LLP is looking for permanent, full-time Staff Accountants.

You will work closely with all members of your team including senior managers and partners. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Under the supervision of the engagement senior, the individual is responsible for all aspects of the engagement including planning and execution of the engagement
  • Preparation of financial statements and related working paper files (audits, reviews, compilations) in CaseWare
  • Summarize client information on accounting packages or spreadsheets
  • Prepare personal and corporate tax returns
Qualifications

All levels of experience will be considered. The ideal candidates are individuals who are dynamic, have an entrepreneurial spirit, can adapt to an ever-changing environment, and have an aptitude for developing and maintaining good relationships with clients and staff. They must also be able to handle a variety of responsibilities in a professional manner. 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Currently have or is working towards a business diploma or degree and is interested in pursuing a career in accounting
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to listen to others, ask questions, and express points of view
  • Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with clients and co-workers
  • Ability to learn new computer software
  • Initiative, willingness, and the ability to accept responsibility
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Possess decisiveness, good judgment and common sense
  • Ability to recognize and analyze problems, propose sound alternatives and conclusions
