Located in the southwest edge of Renfrew County, Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan is home to several outdoor adventure businesses, second-generation logging companies, and many small businesses that thrive in our community. The hamlets of Palmer Rapids, Brudenell, Quadeville, Hardwood Lake and more are nestled in this rural and heavily forested township with 60,000 hectares of bush that supports the logging industry and surrounds the lush farmland. The public works department is responsible for 197 kilometers of roads in the township.

The Township of Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan is recruiting for a Truck Driver-Equipment Operator. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week with some shift work during critical periods.

Responsibilities:

• Perform road maintenance including plowing and sanding roads and road repairs
• Set up construction work zones for traffic control
• Operate the excavator, loader, grader, bulldozer and other equipment
• Clean culverts
• Operate other tools
• Install and remove docks
• Maintenance of public areas
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment
• Perform various duties pertaining to everyday activities of the roads department

• Grade 12 diploma
• Valid DZ or AZ driver’s license
• One year of experience operating loaders, graders, bulldozers and other heavy equipment
• Experience driving a plow truck is an asset
• Knowledge of road construction and maintenance activities is an asset
• Excellent physical conditions with the ability to handle physical demands and heavy machinery including trucks
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• Demonstrated excellent safety record
• Ability to be on call 24 hours per day combined with flexibility in hours of work
• Current additional certifications (or willing to acquire within one year) would be an asset: Worker 4-step health and safety training, surface miner common core, pleasure craft operator, chain saw certificate, traffic control training, AODA and WHMIS

Salary will be based on qualification and includes a benefit package and OMERS pension plan.
