Madawaska Valley Association for Community Living (MVACL) is looking for employees who want to share in our mission: Working together to improve the quality of life for people with intellectual disabilities. We provide service 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We are recruiting employees who want to share in our mission. We are currently recruiting for Direct Support Professionals and Direct Support Supervisors. These are temporary positions with the possibility of continued employment after the COVID-19 pandemic has ended. Shifts include days, evenings, overnights and weekends.

Direct Support Supervisors (DSS) and Direct Support Professionals (DSP) work directly with and on behalf of people who have an intellectual disability, assisting them to articulate and achieve their personal goals. He or she will support people with personal growth, assist individuals to participate in the community and help them to enhance their quality of life.

  • DSW diploma preferred or equivalent
  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma
  • Valid class G Ontario driver's licence
  • Recent and relevant experience in a direct support human services role
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication
  • Current police vulnerable sector check
  • Current Emergency First Aid Level C/CPR certification
  • Current CPI certification
