The Oaks of Cobden Golf Club is an 18-hole golf course. We have members, guest play and tournaments. The golf course is part of Summerhill Resorts, and is a vital part of our gateway to summer fun in the Ottawa Valley.

We are recruiting for a Mechanic for the 2025 season. This is a full-time, seasonal role that runs until November (approximately) working Monday to Friday.

The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing all golf course vehicles and equipment, including gasoline, diesel, and electric-powered machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance, repair, and calibration of all equipment including engines, brakes, transmissions, hydraulics, differentials, springs, and mufflers; secure and replace tools and parts.
  • Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues, providing quick resolutions.
  • Set and adjust mowers to ensure cutting quality.
  • Make recommendations on equipment maintenance and repair to the superintendent.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
  • Monitor and manage the inventory of parts and tools.
  • Manage the ordering and purchasing of parts and supplies.
  • Ensure a clean, safe and organized work environment.
Qualifications
  • Experience as a mechanic, preferably in golf or small-engine, that includes equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in managing projects and staff in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant technical certifications are preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for equipment handling.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Experience in sharpening and grinding rotary mower blades.
  • Knowledge of the game of golf is an asset.
  • Willing to take industry training.
