About The Position

The Quality Technician is responsible for accurate communication of quality requirements for castings and performing revisions when requirements are updated. 

Additional responsibilities include:

• Lead root cause and corrective action activities and authorize return to vendor activities
• Prepare and submit first article inspection packages; monitor and relay approval status
• Prepare and submit the production part approval process packages; monitor and relay approval status
• Approve all internal engineering changes and communicate with the customer for authorization
• Participate in purchase order and specification reviews for castings
• Prepare and modify shop floor techniques for their designated parts using inspection and processing techniques
• Review changes and suggestions for improvement to ensure no specification violation will occur, determine if customer approval is required, and seek the necessary approvals
• Keep a current master status for designated castings
• Complete all customer and parts audits
• See to the timely closure of associated non-conformance reports
• Participate in daily and monthly activities, including product release and visual inspection
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Post-secondary education in a technical discipline
• Drawing interpretation including General Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Excellent customer service abilities
• Ability to manage priorities
• Must wear CSA-approved footwear, hearing protection and safety glasses when entering the production floor
• Four years of industry experience in aerospace or manufacturing is an asset
• Quality Technician certification is an asset
