At Community Living Upper Ottawa Valley (CLUOV), we are dedicated to empowering adults with intellectual disabilities to live extraordinary, fulfilling lives. We believe in person-centered support that promotes independence, inclusion, and meaningful community engagement.
We are currently recruiting Community Support Workers for contract, part-time, full-time and casual positions. Shifts vary up to 12 hours in duration for all positions and include days and evenings, alternate weekends, holidays, or overnight for night positions. Shifts are on a rotating schedule.
Key responsibilities:
- Promote independence, inclusion, and personal growth for individuals supported
- Provide personal care, including bathing, feeding, oral and personal hygiene
- Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and behavioral support plans (BSPs)
- Document daily activities and updates using AIMS software
- Administer medication and perform controlled medical acts (training provided)
- Apply non-violent crisis intervention techniques (training provided)
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and external professionals
- Maintain a respectful and professional presence in individuals' homes
- Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting, bending, and driving

- Two years of post-secondary education in human or health sciences is preferred; candidates who demonstrate an equivalent combination of education and job training will also be considered
- Current vulnerable sector screening (or willing to obtain)
- A valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of vehicle insurance
- Current certifications in First Aid, CPR (or willing to obtain)
- Proven excellence in working both independently and in a team
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities is an asset; extensive orientation and training will be provided
- Experience with supporting individuals in other ways (i.e. aging parents, family with a history of disabilities and/or mental or physical illnesses)
- Bilingualism is an asset
- Experience working with dual diagnosis and challenging behaviors
