We are currently recruiting for a Snowplow-Equipment Operator. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week which may include evenings, weekends and statutory holidays.

Reporting to the Public Works Superintendent, the Snowplow-Equipment Operator is primarily responsible for road maintenance operations within the township. This position also performs additional related duties including labourer functions (i.e. patching roads, shoveling, sweeping, flagging, shop cleaning) and other physical activities.

• Equivalent to a high school diploma with job-related courses in the operation, maintenance and construction of roads
• Experience in operating equipment, including trucks, backhoe, tandem plow, and other maintenance equipment
• Ability to operate a grader is an asset
• An AZ license; applicants with a DZ license will be considered
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent safety record
• Able to meet the physical demands of the position
• Ability to be on call 24 hours a day, combined with a flexibility in hours of work
