Real Property Operations Detachment Petawawa is recruiting for a Labourer, Painting to work from November 19, 2026 to May 5, 2027 (flexible). This position is 40 hours per week with the potential for overtime. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm.

Duties:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, patching, and drywall repairs.
  • Perform interior and exterior painting of residential, commercial, and industrial facilities.
  • Apply paint, coatings, and finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
  • Touch up existing signs and create temporary signage as required.
  • Operate a variety of painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, sprayers, shop tools, and portable power tools.
  • Inspect, clean, maintain, and store painting tools and equipment.
  • Follow safe work practices and applicable workplace safety standards.
Qualifications
  • Valid, unrestricted provincial driver's licence.
  • Ability to perform physical labour, including heavy lifting, carrying, walking, standing, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and crouching.
  • Willing and able to work outdoors, in confined spaces and in hot or cold environments.
  • Must be willing to wear and/or utilize personal protective equipment in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Willing and able to work at heights.
