Ben Hokum and Son Limited is a progressive and growing sawmill and lumber company. We are the largest producer of red and white pine in Eastern Ontario and our lumber products are well-known in industry circles for their superior quality. Our company employs over 100 people, and we sell our products throughout Canada and internationally.

In addition, we have made significant investments in our operations and are continuing to do so. Today, we have the most technologically advanced sawmill in Eastern Ontario. We also have a state-of-the-art, automated lumber grading facility.

We are currently recruiting for an Accounting-Bookkeeping Clerk. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Responsibilities of this position include:

• Managing the accounts receivable and accounts payable systems
• Manage general office procedures including filing and retrievable systems
• Accurate and timely invoicing of customers
• Timely and current record keeping
• Administration duties that accompany this type of role
• Assisting with other needs that may emerge

• Strong mathematical aptitude
• Post-secondary accounting education or three or more years of practical experience
• Experience with accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Proficiency with Sage 300 is an asset
• Comfortable in a fast-paced work environment and able to prioritize multiple deadlines
• Familiar with exercising judgment, discretion and tact 
• Being an effective communicator
• Proficient in working independently and contributing to a strong team effort
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Willingness to be cross-trained
