Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation (AOPFN)is a proud and progressive Algonquin community. Pikwakanagan is situated on the shores of Golden Lake and the Bonnechere River in Renfrew County. Located off of Highway 60, our community is 90 minutes west of Ottawa and 90 minutes hours east of Algonquin Park.
We are currently recruiting for a Project Coordinators in the consultation department. This is a two-year contract position, full-time, with the possibility of permanency.
The Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting project management, overseeing projects functions, reporting and budgeting for assigned projects. This role will manage assigned projects and working groups and coordinate necessary administrative working group functions. This position includes researching, planning, budgeting, and documenting all aspects of the work projects and supervision of staff.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Manage cost, scope, time management, reporting, benchmarking and scheduling of activities to meet project objectives
- Develop agendas, maintain meeting records and support community engagement
- Manage the implementation of working group projects
- Develop and implement funding agreements
- Effectively communicate project progress to working groups members, employees, colleagues and stakeholders
- Develop requests for proposal and evaluate bids
- Track project milestones and deliverables

- Post-secondary or diploma or certificate in office administration, business, public administration, project management or a related field
- Two or more years of experience in facilitation, project management and end-to-end delivery of program and services, preferably within a First Nations community or organization, or
- A secondary school diploma
- Three or more years of experience, including facilitation, project management, program and service delivery, and developing proposals (preferably with a First Nations community or organization)

- the qualified indigenous person; then to,
- the qualified non-indigenous candidate.
Interviews: Interviews will be conducted in-person or virtually by Teams Meeting. AOPFN has the right to shortlist for interview and assessment purposes of the five most qualified persons and typically establishes an eligibility list.
