We are currently recruiting a Scheduler. This is a part-time position working 22.5 hours per week.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and adjust employee schedules and master rotations.
  • Coordinate staffing coverage for leaves, vacancies, and schedule changes.
  • Manage call-ins and replacement staffing to ensure service continuity.
  • Maintain and distribute schedules, assignment sheets, and staffing updates.
  • Monitor attendance, absences, and scheduling trends.
  • Ensure scheduling practices comply with the collective agreement, Employment Standards Act (ESA), and organizational requirements.
  • Support payroll accuracy by ensuring scheduled hours and approved changes are properly recorded.
  • Analyze scheduling and attendance data to identify trends and support decision-making.
  • Prepare and generate reports.
  • Collaborate with managers and supervisors to optimize staffing resources.
  • Provide recommendations regarding scheduling efficiencies and absenteeism management.
  • Coordinate and schedule training, certifications, and orientation sessions.
  • Serve as a resource to employees, supervisors, and management teams.
  • Contribute to workplace initiatives, process improvements, and organizational projects.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a collaborative problem-solver with strong analytical skills, exceptional communication abilities and a commitment to fostering positive and supports workplace culture. In addition, we are looking for the following:

  • Post-secondary education in business administration, human resources, or a related field, or an equivalent of education and experience
  • Experience with employee scheduling, workforce planning or resource coordination
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and collective agreement environments
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize activities in a fast-paced organization
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector clearance
  • Strong diplomacy and negotiation skills and ability to work as an effective team member
  • A self-starter with the ability to take initiative from concept through to implementation
  • Adept at learning new technology
  • Creative, analytical skills, and strong attention to detail
  • French language fluency is an asset
  • Ontario G or G2 driver’s licence
  • Criminal record and vulnerable sector check
