Our mission is to provide a home for those who need our care and we are committed to the safety of our residents and in compliance with the Long-Term Care Homes Act legislation.

Valley Manor Long Term Care is currently recruiting a compassionate and reliable Hairdresser to provide services to our residents. This is an independent contractor opportunity, working one day per week with services provided at Valley Manor. A flexible schedule is preferred.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with seniors and creating a positive, welcoming experience. This role can be incredibly rewarding, as the simple act of a haircut or hairstyle often brings joy, confidence, comfort, and meaningful social interaction to residents. Building relationships with residents and becoming part of their routine can make a lasting impact on their quality of life.

Responsibilities:

• Provide haircuts, styling, and basic salon services to residents
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and staff
• Adhere to infection prevention and control practices within the home

• Hairdressing certification or license is preferred
• Experience working with seniors is an asset
• Friendly, patient, and professional demeanor
• Vulnerable sector check is required prior to start
• A negative 2-step TB test is required prior to start

Position Details:

• Hairdresser services are coordinated through Valley Manor; however, services are paid directly by residents and families
• Existing resident clientele available
