The Town of Petawawa is the largest community in Renfrew County with more than 17,000 residents. Located along the Ottawa River, the municipality is home to Canada's largest army base. Hosting festivals, events and programming year-round, Petawawa is an active community with recreation and culture programs for residents and visitors alike.
The Town of Petawawa is currently recruiting responsible, energetic individuals to fill the roles of Facility Operator Assistants. These six-month contract positions are available as casual and regularly scheduled roles. The hours vary based on scheduling and availability and include day, evening and weekend shifts. There is a possibility of an extension of this contract.
The Facility Operator Assistants work with the Facility Operator to assist with cleaning and maintenance tasks, as well as setting up facilities for programming.
Duties:
- Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of facilities, including washrooms, change rooms, arena stands, parking lots, tennis courts, playing fields, community trails, playgrounds and general grounds
- Assist in the maintenance and minor repairs to buildings, grounds and equipment
- Assist with ice maintenance as well as turf maintenance, including grass cutting, trimming, thatching and fertilizing
- Use a variety of vehicles, hand and power tools and cleaning equipment
- Assist with program readiness, special events, fields, grounds, and festivals
