The Town of Renfrew invites applications for the role of Crossing Guard.
Under the supervision of the Director of Fire, Emergency & Protective Services-Fire Chief, the Crossing Guard has an important role in assisting pedestrians travelling to and from school when crossing at various intersections in the Town of Renfrew. Crossing Guards are expected to work two hours per day for the duration of the school year. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and contributing to the community.
Responsibilities:
- Report to the assigned crossing at the appointed times
- Maintain a professional demeanor with the general public and school children at all times
- Communicate clearly and effectively to crosswalk users regarding safe and unsafe crossing practices
- Always wear mandatory safety equipment while on duty as supplied by the Town of Renfrew
- Inspect crossing intersection daily, report and document all concerns and/or incidents
