The Township of Whitewater Region is recruiting for a Driver-Operator. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week.

The position of skilled Driver-Operator provides a variety of construction, maintenance, repair, and emergency response services related to public roads with a focus on public safety and convenience.

Job Description

• Previous related experience in winter road maintenance and/or road construction.
• Previous related experience in the operation of tandem trucks, backhoe, loader, and other miscellaneous equipment is an asset.
• Valid DZ licence mandatory; AZ license is desirable.
• Ontario Good Roads Association related courses are assets.
• Ability to work independently including working remotely in the assigned corporate vehicle or equipment, utilizing work tools to ensure operations are conducted in an efficient, effective, and safe manner.
• Demonstrated excellent safety record, ability to meet physical demands of the position.
• Ability to be on call 24 hours per day combined with a flexibility in hours of work.
• Good interpersonal skills working in a team.
• An ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
• Working conditions include exposure to physical hazards and inclement weather conditions such as blizzards, white-outs, ice storms, fog, etc.
