Wise Owl Day Care Centre is a licensed, non-profit childcare centre. We provide programs for infants, toddlers, pre-school, full day before and after kindergarten, and a before and after school-age program. We are one of Renfrew County's largest childcare facilities, hosting children ranging in age from infant to school age.

Wise Owl Day Care Centre is currently recruiting for a Cook. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 6:30am-3:30pm.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children in a safe and caring environment. You’ll play a key role in supporting the health and well-being of the children in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines for children
• Plan weekly menus that are age-appropriate and follow nutrition standards
• Manage the general maintenance and operation of the kitchen
• Order and maintain inventory of food and kitchen supplies
• Ensure all food preparation and storage complies with health and safety regulations
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
• Accommodate special dietary needs and food allergies
• Collaborate with daycare staff to ensure smooth meal service

• Experience cooking in a childcare, school, or institutional setting is preferred
• Knowledge of child nutrition and Canada’s Food Guide
• Food handler certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening are required
