Valley Manor Long Term Care is currently recruiting for a Finance Manager. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, between 8:00am and 4:00pm. A hybrid work arrangement can be accommodated.
This is a key leadership role responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making. This position also oversees IT systems and select support services, and plays an important role in ensuring Valley Manor remains financially sustainable and compliant within the long-term care sector.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Lead all accounting functions, including monthly financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting
- Monitor and analyze financial performance and provide clear reporting to leadership and the board
- Support the annual operating and capital budget process
- Ensure strong internal controls, reconciliations, and audit readiness
- Oversee all ministry reporting (OHRS, MIS, occupancy, annual reports, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with long-term care funding requirements and legislation
- Lead year-end processes and liaise with external auditors
- Supervise finance staff and oversee accounting processes (AP, AR, payroll, general ledger)
- Monitor cash flow, investments, and resident trust accounts
- Support IT systems and recommend improvements
- Participate in strategic planning and organizational initiatives
- Support union-related financial analysis, including costing for negotiations
- Provide financial insights to leadership to support decision-making

- A degree or diploma in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field is required
- A minimum of three years of leadership experience, ideally in healthcare or long-term care
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and audits
- Ability to lead the annual budget development process in collaboration with leadership and department managers
- Experience with government reporting and funding models is an asset
- Familiarity with unionized environments
- Strong systems skills
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or similar is an asset
- Obtain a vulnerable sector check valid from the last six months
