The Township of Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards is recruiting for a Public Works Operator-Labourer. This is a part-time, on-call position.

The Public Works Operator-Labourer provides a variety of construction, maintenance, repair and emergency response services related to township infrastructure with a focus on public safety and convenience. The duties include snowplowing and sanding, gravelling, grading, removing downed trees from township roads, etc.

• Able to work independently
• Mechanically inclined and able to repair small equipment breaks
• Experience in operating heavy equipment.
• Equivalent to high school education with job-related courses in the operation, maintenance and construction of roads
• One year of experience in the maintenance and operation of equipment, including trucks, loader, grader and winter maintenance equipment, or willing to learn
• DZ licence
• Strong communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• Demonstrated excellent safety record, ability to meet physical demands of the position
• Ability to be on call 24 hours per day combined with flexibility in hours of work
• Experience in the use of torches and welding equipment is an asset
• Municipal experience is an asset

The compensation for this position is $17.60-$23.69 per hour for a minimum of 25 hours per week. This position includes benefits and the OMERS pension plan.
