The Town of Renfrew invites applications to fill the position of Maintenance Labourer-Janitor. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Under the supervision of the Recreation Operations Supervisor and the recreation lead hands, the Maintenance Labourer-Janitor is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the myFM Centre, Ma-te-Way Park as well as playgrounds and sports fields. The Maintenance Labourer-Janitor will perform a variety of physical tasks to ensure the safety, cleanliness and functionality of Town of Renfrew recreation facilities for patrons and staff.

• Valid Ontario driver’s license class G in good standing.
• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in facility maintenance, arena operations, groundskeeping, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of building systems, mechanical equipment, tools, and minor mechanical repairs.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instruction.
• Ability to perform the essential duties of the position (including lifting heavy objects, carrying heavy objects, working in all conditions, etc.)
• Strong interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work independently.
• Ability to deal with the public in a calm, professional manner.
• Criminal record check with results that are satisfactory to the town.
• Experience operating and maintaining arena equipment and machinery effectively is an asset.
• General machine operation experience is an asset.
