Ben Hokum and Son Limited is a progressive and growing sawmill and lumber company. We are the largest producer of red and white pine in Eastern Ontario and our lumber products are well-known in industry circles for their superior quality. Our company employs over 100 people, and we sell our products throughout Canada and internationally.

In addition, we have recently made significant investments in our operations. Today, we have the most technologically advanced sawmill in Eastern Ontario. We also have a new, state-of-the-art, automated lumber grading facility.

We are currently recruiting for a Planing Mill Labourer at our Pembroke location. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities of this position include:

• Work safely when piling lumber
• Adhering to all safe operating procedures
• General cleanup in the planing mill
• Ability and willingness to learn a variety of tasks and jobs in and around the planing mill

• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job
• Work as a member of a team.
• Excellent communication skills to ensure work is completed on time and to the quality we expect
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
• Take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work
• Previous planing mill experience is an asset, but we provide excellent training
