We are recruiting for a Heat Treat Attendant Off-Shift. This is a full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, load, and monitor heat treat furnaces
  • Verify casting details, including melt and part numbers, test bar requirements, and heat treat conditions
  • Safely use forklifts, hoists, or cranes to load and unload furnace materials
  • Maintain accurate records on log sheets and charts for process tracking
  • Monitor and control compressors, fans, and furnace gas content using carbon dioxide sampling equipment
  • Inspect and maintain racks, fixtures, and castings for alignment, straightness, and overall quality Conduct routine carbon dioxide and boron trifluoride line checks, documenting inspection results
  • Perform security checks throughout the facility and assist with fire response
  • Adhere to safety protocols, wear appropriate PPE, and perform additional duties
Qualifications
  • Possess a high school diploma, GED certificate or equivalent training and experience
  • Familiarity with high-temperature industrial environments and metal thermal processing techniques
  • Valid forklift license or experience operating forklifts is an asset
  • Background in monitoring furnaces and heat treatment systems is an asset

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work rotating 12-hour continental shifts on a weekly basis, including days, nights, and weekends
  • Wear CSA-approved steel-toed footwear and fire-retardant clothing while on the production floor
  • Work is performed in a hot, industrial environment with exposure to high temperatures, molten metals, and occasional fumes or airborne particles
  • Employees must follow strict safety protocols and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Physical demands include standing for extended periods, frequent walking, bending, and lifting of materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Regular interaction with team members and supervisors is expected to ensure safe, efficient operations
