Social Program-Volunteer Coordinator

Arnprior-Braeside-McNab Seniors at Home Program Inc. is a non-profit charitable community support service agency partially funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health through the Ontario Health East network, providing vital services to seniors and individuals with disabilities and special needs.

We are recruiting for a mature and experienced individual to fill the role of Social Program-Volunteer Coordinator. This is a part-time position working two days per week.

Responsibilities:

• Coordination of social programming, monthly lunch bunch, quarterly diners club, annual seniors BBQ, annual Christmas party
• Provide statistical reporting and programming reports
• Attend regular program and staff meetings
• Act as an ambassador of the agency
• Recruitment and retention of volunteers
• Manage volunteer applications and ensure volunteer files are kept secure
• Provide orientation to new volunteers
• Organize an annual volunteer appreciation event
• Provide 1:1 service to clients seeking assistance with government forms, applying for subsidies, or acting as a representative when a client is needing support with telephone calls in relation to forms or assessments
• Works harmoniously with others

• Friendly, outgoing individual
• Comfortable with public speaking
• Strong organizational skills
• Working skills in word processing and spreadsheet creation (Microsoft Office), email and the internet
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work some flexible hours
• Own transportation and a valid driver’s license
• Coordination experience is an asset
• Agency and community knowledge are assets
