The mission of Bernadette McCann House (BMH), an accredited organization serving Renfrew County, is to work for change that will end abuse by providing safety, support, and education to all those who experience abuse. Our services include an emergency residential program for women and children, community outreach, support services for children, groups, and workshops.
We are currently recruiting for a Family Court Support Caseworker. This is a full-time contract position from January 2026 to January 2027. This contract is five days a week, 75 hours bi-weekly.
Reporting to the Outreach Supervisor, the Family Court Support Caseworker provides direct service to male and female victims of domestic violence involved in the family court process. Responsibilities of this position include:
- Supporting clients through the legal aid process including lawyer’s requests, assistance with court documentation, and referrals to other services
- Providing education and support regarding domestic violence
- Providing crisis intervention services
- Leading safety planning
- Providing client advocacy
- Providing group facilitation services
