Pathways Alcohol and Drug Treatment Services provides community treatment to residents of Renfrew County who are struggling with substance use; as well as family members.  

We are recruiting for an Addictions Counsellor. This is a full-time position for a one-year contract with the possibility of being made permanent.

The Addictions Counsellor will work with men and women who have substance use issues, or who have family members with substance use issues.

Duties:

• Provide intake and screening, assessments
• Develop treatment plans with appropriate clients
• Provide community treatment and case management to clients within a community treatment setting, including crisis intervention

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or an equivalent discipline
• Member of a regulatory college or CACCF
• A minimum of three years of clinical experience
• Thorough knowledge of the treatment of substance use disorders
• Evidence of client-directed practice of service delivery
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team setting
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Bilingualism is an asset
