Occupational Certification:

• Possession of a valid provincial or territorial journeyperson certificate of qualification as a refrigeration and air conditioning mechanic (HVAC), or
• Possession of a valid certificate accepted by the provincial or territorial governing body as an equivalent as a refrigeration and air conditioning mechanic (HVAC), or
• Possession of a valid Technical Qualification Level (QL) 5 or Developmental Period (DP) 2 in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) as a refrigeration and air conditioning mechanic (HVAC)

Candidates who qualify based on a valid Technical Qualification Level (QL) 5 (minimum) in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) as a refrigeration and air conditioning mechanic (HVAC) may be required to obtain and maintain a valid provincial or territorial journeyperson certificate of qualification at the time of appointment.

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience in the operation, inspection, maintenance, repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and refrigeration equipment in commercial or industrial settings
• Essential competencies: communication, demonstrating integrity and respect and working effectively with others
