Laurentian Valley is experiencing significant growth as it continues to capitalize on its strategic location in Renfrew County.

The Township of Laurentian Valley is recruiting for four Summer Students – Public Works Labourers. Positions start May 4, 2026, and are 40 hours per week for 16 weeks.

Duties:

• Trimming of brush and grass from township roads and properties.
• Debris and litter collection.
• Traffic control and road construction.
• Installation of roadway signage.
• Painting of fire hydrants, maintenance equipment, and buildings.
• General custodial and maintenance duties.

• Able to work independently.
• Physically capable of performing assigned duties.
• Experience in construction and operating maintenance equipment such as grass trimmers, lawnmowers, etc. is an asset.
• Valid class G2 or G driver’s license.
• Provide personal CSA-approved safety footwear.
• Registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year.
• May be subject to inclement weather and/or weather extremes during the discharge of responsibilities.
• Considerable periods of standing and/or moderate walking in the field may be required.
