Pillar5 is currently the only CDMO with the ability to manufacture multi-dose preservative-free solutions.
Pillar5 Pharma is seeking a Procurement & Contracts Specialist. This is a full-time position.
The Procurement & Contracts Specialist will serve as a key internal resource, responsible for procurement, supplier negotiations, and supply contract activities supporting Pillar5 site and their associated vendors. This position requires regular collaboration with cross-functional teams including warehousing, manufacturing, finance, technical services, planning, and quality operations to support operational needs and maintain a reliable, high-performing supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic supplier negotiations to secure favourable pricing, delivery, and service terms, resolve complex challenges, and leverage organizational buying power to optimize costs and reduce lead times.
- Manage and review contracts to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, identify risks and cost-saving opportunities, and maintain accurate, up-to-date records including expirations, amendments, and renewals.
- Conduct market research and evaluate supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities, support sourcing decisions, and build long-term, strategic vendor relationships.
- Manage end-to-end procurement operations, including RFP, RFQ and RFI processes, timely purchasing and delivery of production materials, inventory, PPE, lab equipment, and services, while resolving back orders and supply issues to support uninterrupted manufacturing.
- Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships, including performance monitoring, vendor reviews, negotiations, and coordination on new product Introductions to optimize cost, delivery, and service levels.
- Maintain accurate procurement and planning data, manage supplier change requests, and drive inventory optimization to achieve turn goals, reduce distressed stock, and minimize planned obsolescence.

- University degree or college diploma in supply chain management or a related field
- A minimum of 3-5 years in a procurement or buyer role, which demonstrated success in contract negotiation and review
- Strong understanding of contract law, procurement principles, and public or corporate procurement legislation
- Strong analytical capabilities
- Excellent teamwork, organizational and communication skills
- Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP and lean manufacturing processes
- Proficient in Microsoft applications
- Certification in purchasing (CPP) or production/inventory management (i.e., CPIM) is an asset
- SAP or other ERP experience is an asset
