Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation (AOPFN)is a proud and progressive Algonquin community. Pikwakanagan is situated on the shores of Golden Lake and the Bonnechere River in Renfrew County. Located off Highway 60, our community is 90 minutes west of Ottawa and 90 minutes hours east of Algonquin Park.
We are currently recruiting for a Project Coordinator. This is a permanent, full-time position working 35 hours per week.
The Project Coordinator will be the first point of contact for interests and issues concerning AOPFN employment. This includes program-related hiring, recruitment procedures, assisting prospective hires resume writing, training plans, and monitoring and reporting progress toward hiring goals on the assigned projects.
In addition, the Project Coordinator will be the first point of contact for interests and issues concerning procurement and business development on assigned projects, as well as for processes related to environmental impact assessment, regulatory review, and permitting.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the planning and implementation of AOPFN assigned projects
- Perform administrative functions
- Manage environmental impact assessment and regulatory review processes Manage and implement employment, procurement and business development provisions
- Manage and develop community outreach (includes updating the community on current projects, update website, etc.)

Option 1
- Post-secondary diploma or certificate in office administration, business, public administration, project management or a related field
- A minimum of two years demonstrated work experience in facilitation, project management, developing and delivering programs, services and projects start to finish (preferably with a First Nation community and/or organization)
Option 2
- Secondary school diploma
- Three or more years demonstrated work experience in facilitation, project management, developing and delivering programs, services and projects start to finish (preferably with a First Nation community and/or organization)
- Experience in developing requests for proposals

- the qualified indigenous person; then to,
- the qualified non-indigenous candidate.
Interviews: Interviews will be conducted in-person or virtually by Teams Meeting. AOPFN has the right to shortlist for interview and assessment purposes of the five most qualified persons and typically establishes an eligibility list.
