For over 40 years, PSP has been providing high-quality, comfortable, and durable soft body armour and carriers for Canada’s law enforcement agencies and Department of National Defence. Established in 1984, and originally started in western Canada, PSP is a proud brand of Cadre Holdings Inc. with a location in Arnprior.

We are recruiting for a Quality Supervisor. This is a full-time position.

The Quality Supervisor ensures that all soft body armor products meet stringent quality standards and comply with ISO 9001:2015 requirements. This role oversees quality control processes, supervises inspection teams, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to maintain product integrity and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily quality control operations, including incoming material inspection, in-process checks, and final product audits.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards across all production activities.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation, including inspection records, calibration logs, and corrective action reports.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for nonconformities.
  • Train and mentor quality inspectors on inspection techniques, documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with production, product line and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
  • Monitor and report key quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, rework percentages, audit findings).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean concepts and A3 problem-solving methodologies.
  • Ensure proper handling and traceability of ballistic materials and finished armor products.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in quality supervision within manufacturing; defense or PPE industry preferred.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methodology is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team development skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management systems (QMS).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on the production floor.
  • Visual acuity for detailed inspections.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
