Mativ is a worldwide leading manufacturer of bonding and adhesive components and solutions for the healthcare, industrial and transportation markets.
We are currently recruiting for a Quality Manager for our Renfrew manufacturing site. This is a full-time position.
The Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance systems and for ensuring that the products that are manufactured in a multi-shift calendering and converting facility are fit for purpose and meet both internal and external customer requirements. This individual is a key member of the operations support team responsible for the overall operational effectiveness of the site.
Responsibilities:
- Promoting quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization.
- Developing, implementing, communicating and maintaining a quality plan to bring the company’s quality systems and policies into compliance with quality system requirements.
- Effectively interacting with production and development teams to maintain product supply and help introduce new products
- Working with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
- Ensuring compliance with quality management system, national and international standards and legislation.
- Defining quality procedures in conjunction with the operating staff.
- Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation procedures.
- Liaising with external auditors, customer auditors, and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customer specifications.
- Establishing standards of service for customers or clients.
- Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
- Organizing and managing quality assurance function in close co-operation with the customers and the company’s management team.
- Identifying relevant quality-related training needs and delivering training.
- Maintaining relevant PFMEA, control plans, PPAPs, and IMDS systems.
- Collating and analyzing performance data and charts against defined parameters.
- Ensuring tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and that product modifications are investigated if necessary.
- Supervising quality department personnel in carrying out required job tasks.
- Writing technical and management systems reports.
- Bringing together staff of different disciplines and driving the group to plan and formulate comprehensive manufacturing procedures.
- Managing and maintaining the company’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods.
- Formulating and managing the development and implementation of objectives, policies, procedures and systems.
- Setting quality department goals and objectives and ensuring that targets are achieved.
- Maintaining awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues.
- Assessing the product specifications of the company and its suppliers, while comparing with customer requirements.

- Post-secondary education in engineering, science, or a related technical field
- 5 to 7 years of manufacturing experience
- Strong technical background
- Previous experience with quality management standards such as ISO 9001/IATF 16949
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, combined with strong interpersonal skills
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office products, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with SAP is an asset
