The Township of Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards covers the area of Round Lake, Killaloe and the Wilno area. Highway 60 runs through the municipality which is situated between North Algona Wilberforce and Madawaska Valley. The township is recruiting a Rink Manager at the Round Lake Centre Outdoor Rink. This is a contract position.

The Rink Manager provides a variety of maintenance, repair and emergency response services related to the municipality’s outdoor rink facilities. This role ensures that all users of the rink facilities comply with applicable legislative requirements and municipal policies and by-laws.

Responsibilities:

• Flood the rink and establish an ice pad for the skating season
• Clear snow from ice pad as required and ensure the ice is kept in a safe and optimal condition
• Performs maintenance tasks
• Monitor facility operation systems and report situations needing attention
• Report required maintenance and repairs
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards, perform a variety of janitorial duties
• Perform First Aid as required
• Clear snow from all exits including emergency exits, and salt as necessary
• Respond to requests from staff, users and the general public to ensure quality service
• Ensure all equipment is maintained and stored properly

• Communicate and work tactfully with others
• Knowledge of the systems and equipment involved in facility operation and maintenance
• Knowledge of the use of hand tools
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Physical ability to perform the assigned duties
• Punctual and reliable
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Excellent people skills
• Valid First Aid-CPR training or willing to obtain
• Possess and maintain a valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence
• Current vulnerable sector check
