Riverview Heights Retirement Residence is an independent living seniors' residence which opened in 2008. We provide a home-like setting with an open and friendly culture that allows residents and families to feel valued, safe and secure. Riverview Heights encourages independence while providing residents and their families the comfort of knowing our caring staff is there to help if needed.
Riverview Heights is currently recruiting for a Life Enrichment Manager. This is a full-time position.
The Life Enrichment Manager is responsible for the overall management of all recreation and activation offered to residents.
Responsibilities of this position:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate leisure programs and services to meet the psychosocial, physical, intellectual, and spiritual needs of clients
- Provide opportunities to involve clients in the planning, provision, and evaluation of leisure, educational, and fundraising activities
- Assess individual client needs by completing client activation profiles at least once every 12 months
- Coordinate the staff and volunteer programs, including recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation
- Coordinate the pastoral care program to meet individual client needs
- Facilitate the activities of the residents’ council
- Promote the activities program and the facility through monthly calendars, newsletters, and local media coverage
- Schedule and facilitate departmental meetings
- Establish, implement, and enforce recreation policies and procedures with the approval of the General Manager
- Monitor program attendance
- Schedule activities for second-floor clients
- Provide reception coverage as required

- Community college diploma or university degree in recreation or activation, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with memory care or a gentle persuasive approval certificate.
- Customer service experience with the ability to foster a client-first attitude in staff.
- Previous experience working with seniors, preferably in a similar setting.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational skills, creativity, and high motivation.
- Proven ability to supervise and motivate others.
- Working knowledge of the Retirement Homes Act and its application to activation standards.
- Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Valid driver’s licence
Assets:
- Certification in management, gerontology, or volunteer management
- Familiarity with community resources
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
