Description:

A healthcare clinic located in Pembroke and serving clients throughout the Upper Ottawa Valley, is recruiting for a Medical Secretary-Office Assistant. This is a permanent, part-time position averaging 25-30 hours per week.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Answering phones and confirming appointments in a medical office
  • Organizing the work schedule
  • Performs patient check-in and check-out procedures
  • Demonstrates effective customer service
  • Processes confidential patient information
  • Responds to patient inquiries
  • Performs other administrative duties as required

Training will be provided.

Qualifications
  • High school graduate with post-secondary education in administration an asset; a combination of education and experience will also be considered
  • Previous experience in a medical office is an asset
  • Strong English language skills
  • Comfortable speaking to patients and assisting with their inquiries
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
