Eganville and District Seniors has a mission to provide activities, services and support to seniors, disabled individuals and others in our service area. We offer a variety of opportunities for residents of the local community to engage with the centre.
Eganville and District Seniors has partnered with Barry’s Bay and Area Home Support, the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan and the Township of Whitewater Region to hire Intergenerational Support Workers for our new homemaking and home maintenance program. There’s an opportunity to work part-time, full-time, or casual according to your schedule.This is a two-year project, through funding from the Government of Canada through the Age Well At Home Initiative.
Where We Need Assistance:
We are specifically looking to recruit people in the Whitney, Madawaska, Barry’s Bay, Killaloe, Wilno, Palmer Rapids, Combermere, and Quadville areas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Light housekeeping
- Meal preparation
- Laundry assistance
- Assist with shopping and errands
- General yard and home maintenance (for home maintenance workers only)
- Snow removal (home maintenance workers)
- Grass cutting (home maintenance workers)
- Process documentation as required
- Comply with public health, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Employment Standards Act and other pertinent legislation and corporate policies
- Promote enhanced services to encourage residents to age well at home
- Liaise with resident families and other agencies as needed
