The mission of Bernadette McCann House (BMH) is to work for change that will end abuse, by providing safety, support, and education to all those who experience abuse. Our services include an emergency residential program for women and children, community outreach, court support, services for children and youth, groups, and workshops.
We are currently recruiting a Public Education Coordinator. This is a permanent, part-time position working 20 hours per week.
Reporting to the Outreach Supervisor, the Transitional Support Caseworker provides direct service to women who have experienced abuse.
The Public Education Coordinator develops and provides public education resources in conjunction with agency staff for the community and other organizations. Additional responsibilities include:
- Ensures the coordination of public education events
- Develops PowerPoints
- Writes articles
- Oversees the website and social media accounts
- Assists with the strategic planning process
- Identifies public education needs
- Provides support and assistance to management team members
- Makes recommendations regarding the positive promotion of the agency
